Hey, did anyone order some angst?

~~~~
Gabriel hated this.
Really and truly hated this.
He glanced up to the clock hanging on the wall, its ticking excruciatingly slow and too loud for the room.
He let out a choked sob.
“Ten minutes.”
It had felt like it had been hours since Sam and Dean left him, handcuffed to the grated partition.
Dean tossed the handcuffs to Gabriel, who caught them on reflex. They were cold in his hands, the metal chain softly clinking together. He stared down at them, barely hidden fear in his eyes.
“Put ‘em on,” the hunter commanded, his voice deep and terrible.
Gabriels head whipped up, and he glared hard at Dean.
“Excuse me?” he growled, not noticing the look of surprise on Sam’s face where he stood next to him.
“We need to go clean up your mess. Can’t have anyone finding the rotting corpse of a Norse Demigod in a shitty hotel room. And I don’t trust you not to run off again. Now,” Dean advanced on Gabriel, his footsteps heavy and slow. He towered over Gabriel, brows pinched in anger. “Put. Them. On.” Dean leaned down a little closer, almost close enough for his nose to touch. Through his pounding heartbeat and the clenching dread in his chest, Gabriel kept his chin high, not backing down as the human advanced. “Boy.”
A flash of Asmodeus flickered over Dean, like a phantom, and Gabriel reeled back a few steps. He didn’t, wouldn’t, drop his mask. Not in front of them. Never show weakness, not anymore, he thought.
He looked to Sam, there was sympathy there, but still…
“Alright, Dean. Geez, don’t get your pink panties in a twist.”
Gabriel focused on his breathing. In and out, in and out. The cold metal cuff was on his wrist, pushed down and clicked in place, and Gabriel couldn’t stop a small whimper from escaping when he realized that it was his own hand that put it there.
Sam flinched, Gabriel saw it, but he didn’t protest.
Dean smirked, a wicked looking thing, when he was sure Sam couldn’t see it. “There, see,” Dean’s voice calm and light despite the frightful sneer, “not so bad, right?” He snatched the other cuff roughly, tugged a little too quick on it to pull Gabriel over to the iron bars and slam it in place with practiced ease. “Now, I need you to snap big and ugly there” he pointed to Narfi, dead on the floor, “into the trunk of my car.”
“Dean…” Sam muttered.
“It’s fine, Sam.” Gabriel was surprised he was able to talk at all. “It’s fine.” He raised a hand, snapped his trembling fingers, and the Demigod vanished, wrapped in blankets in Baby’s trunk.
Dean sauntered away to pick up his coat and tossed Sams to his brother. “Yeah, he’s fine. Let’s go, Sam.” The already broken door swung open, banging the handle against the cracked drywall. The sound echoed in Gabriels mind, the slam of a cage door slamming shut. “We’ll be back in an hour.”
Sam was frozen in place, torn between leaving and staying. He opened his mouth to say something.
“Sam!” Deans voice called from the hall.
Sam waffled, looking back and forth from the door to Gabriel.
“Well, go,” Gabriel gestured to the door, “the princess can’t do anything without you.” He thinks he smiled, tried to convey a calm exterior.
With an uncomfortable shift of his feet and a tight frown, Sam turns for the hall. “Sorry,” he whispered, and pulled the door closed behind him.
And now Gabriel sat here, his body curled up in itself, as he counted the ticking seconds of the clock. He rocked slightly, his free hand fisted in his hair.
“It’s ok, you’re ok. It’s ok, you’re ok.”
He repeated it, his mantra, over and over.
Every sound that he heard caused him to flinch. Other guests at the motel, who did nothing about the loud fight that took place minutes ago, returned to their menial days. The murmurs of the reminded him of the fickle and incompetent demons that used to guard him. And being so low on Grace, Gabriel couldn’t reach out and check if they were demons in hiding, following him and waiting for a chance to take him back to his cramped cage. A chance like this.
Gabriel grunted in fear, clenched his teeth and seethed.
“It’s ok, you’re ok. It’s ok, you’re ok.”
A child laughed as they skipped past his door. To Gabriel, the sound was sinister and diabolical. The melody of something that should have been so pure to him was now so tainted. He tried to rouse a memory of Heaven, the fledgling angels laughing as Gabriel tossed them in the air when they were ready to learn how to fly.
But the faces were all wrong, distorted. What should be soft white feathers were bare and leathery, delicate eyes that should sparkle with Grace turned black and red.
“It’s ok, you’re ok. It’s ok, you’re ok.”
His voice was cracking, and tears were trailing down his cheeks. The hand in his hair tightened. His legs bounced and trembled with nervous energy.
Heavy footsteps fell in the hall, loud and purposeful.
Gabriel froze.
He sat up straight, listening. A flash of that ugly white suit strutting down the corridor caused his breath to quicken. Was he even free? Was this all a trick?
Never show weakness
He wiped the wetness from his face, gasping at the familiar white fabric. When did they replace the dirty oversized shirt he had to wear in hell?
The steps got closer. He could practically hear that smug assholes vile laughter. Gabriel stood, pulled on the cuffs to make his escape, but he was still there. He grabbed the grate, tried to pull it out of the wall, but was only reminded of the feel of cold steel under his dirty and broken fingers.
“No!”
It was a ragged whisper, but it was enough.
He remembered that his lips were no longer stitched tightly together, that he was pulled out of hell. He tried to breathe again.
“It’s ok, you’re ok. It’s ok, you’re ok.”
He checked the clock again.
“Fifty minutes.”
He reached for the chair that had toppled over in his haste, righted it, and tried to get comfortable. Sam and Dean would be back any minute, and Gabriel could not let them see him like this.
He closed his eyes, and took some calming breaths.
In and out. In and out.
Never show weakness.
“It’s ok, you’re ok,” he said as the mask slipped back into place. “It’s ok, you’re ok.”
A/N: Ehhhh Fuck it, here y’all go.
            Sam stood outside of the door for far longer than he had meant to. Dean had already drunk himself to sleep and Cas was spending the night in the library helping (more like babysitting) Rowena. There was so much he wanted to say to Gabriel, but every time he rehearsed it in his head, it seemed pointless and stupid. He clenched his fists and was just about to walk away when the door opened.
            “So, you gonna come in or is standing outside of people’s bedroom doors a weird fetish or something?” Gabriel asked, poking his head out.
            “Uh,” Sam looked down the hallway both ways as if he there was somehow someone else Gabriel was talking to.
            “Yes, Sam, you,” Gabriel rolled his eyes. “Get in here, you Sasquatch.” He opened the door a bit more and gestured for Sam to come in. Flushing slightly, Sam ducked his head and walked into the room. He expected the room to already be decked out and lavish, as per Gabriel’s style, but it was still Spartan and free of decoration.
            “I thought you would have added a bit of flair,” Sam commented, walking over to the desk chair and sitting down.
thank you for writing this for me
Sam sat down across from the man, eyes drinking in every detail he could see. Even now, he remembered that night in the hotel. The light Gabriel had had in his eyes, even has he told Dean and him to grab Kali and run. He couldn’t see it now. All he could see was fear.
He picked up the small scalpel, seeing the smaller man flinch at the sight of it.
“No,” he said softly. “I…” He reached a hand forward to touch Gabriel’s shoulder, but the man winced again. For a moment, Sam wondered when the last time Gabriel had felt a hand on him that had been in kindness.
“I…” He softened his tone. Sam was a big guy. He knew it. Hell, the world knew it. Big and intimidating. Maybe not as much as Dean, but Sam figured anyone would be intimidating to Gabriel now.
“I don’t want to cut you,” he said softly. “I need leverage.”
Gabriel’s eyes darted over to the table. Sam understood. He set one hand on the table and brought the scalpel forward.
“Please, if you can, don’t move.”
Gabriel nodded very slightly.
For as large as Sam’s hands were, he’d naturally had a delicate touch. Even as a kid, he’d been able to help his Dad and Dean with their wounds. Hell, learning to use a thread and needle was an essential part of being a hunter. As he cut away the first thread, he stared at it. Half of him wanted to ask, but he knew it wasn’t his place. He couldn’t begin to imagine the pain. Well, he’d been to hell himself, but “hell” was an experience. And from the looks of the once so bright and proud archangel… he’d seen hell.
“I’ll… I’ll get you some fresh clothes and I’ll help you clean up, okay?” He tried to smile, tried to make a good show, but the look on Gabriel’s face spoke volumes. Not disbelief, not miss-trust, but fear, even now. He lowered the knife.
“I don’t know what you endured,” he said. “And I can’t make it go away… but I can fight like hell to make sure he suffers for what he did. You know I will.”
Gabriel regarded him for a minute. Slowly, he lifted a trembling hand, reaching out to touch Sam’s hair. Still long, still soft. Even now. He lowered his hand and placed it on Sam’s shoulder, gripping it tightly. Sam nodded.
“You can keep it there. I won’t touch you.”
Carefully, with Gabriel sturdy, he cut away the rest of the thread. He watched as Gabriel’s lips parted slightly, taking in what must have been his first breath in a long time. He looked up at Sam, his other hand still petting Sam’s hair.
“Never cut it… eh, Sasquatch?”
Toffee Cheesecake Novak-Winchester,
Pickpocketing Extraordinaire
This was made because I was talking to @ttttrickster about Sabriel and a cat. Soon we named the cat Toffee and the idea was woven into my ongoing fic, The Heart’s Desire. This is just more of that au and is very similar to the chapter in “The Heart’s Desire”. So basically it’s an au out of an au, strange right?
Summary: In this world, you have a black spot where your soulmate will first touch you. When they do, it blossoms into a bunch of colors, however it’s only when it’s skin contact. All Gabriel was doing was simply buying a book from the bookstore. He got more than he expected when he meets Toffee, a tiny ginger cat that roams the store. Gabriel regrets nothing, from terrible cat puns to meeting Sam the bookstore clerk. It all was because Toffee loved to pickpocket.
sammy-spirit-winchester:
“Gabriel, Gabriel hey, looks at me, we’re gonna get you out of here, it’s be alright, but I need you to stay with me, come on, it’s alright, it’s okay, okay okay come on” Sam stumbled into his own words, washing Gabriel with his soothed tone of his voice, deep and warm, expressing worries, kindness while the tall man unchained him carefully even though he was in a hurry, paying attention not to rub the already bloody anckles, murmuring in the background, an echo that was new to Gabriel’s ears, lost long far away, when he was the Trickster.
Gabriel howled look seemed to have a weak glimpse, a sparkle as he twitched, blinking trying to get the blurs to take a form
-… Sam? – Sam winchester?
– was he really here?..in hell? –
He inhaled and each single one of his raw bones ached while he straightened himself in the sitting position
“Nonono..”
Sam frowned at the squatters of his body language
And Gabriel just lowered the look again, exhaling, more than a sigh, a defeated breath left his lungs
– it couldn’t be Sam, they have sent him a Sam and a dean, a Castiel and Balthazar here and there…Kali too, once, ot it was just endlessness emptiness, or unbearable pain.
And Sam was his special treat, that boy, oh man..how could he even fall so badly for that boy?
Now….It was an just illusion
Those demon bastards piece of garbage
It wasn’t real
Again
Sam secured a hand on the shoulder of the angel
Warmth
The safe grip on Gabriel’s cold skin was …real
“Gabriel, hey! It’s me!” He lifted up the look again
“I’m gonna get you out of here, but I need you with me, you hear me? I’m going to carry you out, we need to go”
Making sure Gabriel wouldn’t have fought back, or be a dead weight, Sam stared at those eyes while they seemed to regain some stream of life, now actually responding and staring back at him wide and shocked, wondering.
With a loud clang Sam broke the last chain on the wrist.
“There we go, come on, I got you” he shoved an arm underneath helping him up on his feet, but he was not going to losen the hold on him
Sam shook himself back to the situation they were into and with a muffled grunt and a chocked whimper from Gabriel, he lifted him up bridal style, he weighted nothing in his arms, he looked so consumed.
The hunter has to break the eye contact to walk past the door, where Dean was guarding, huffed and followed them letting Sam hurry forward
– where they really getting out of there? –
He knew they were badasses, he has loves the boys, but it has passes just so much time.
Regardless, that warmth on the burning skin was different
His weakened heart was now beating faster
“Cass” Dean called on the phone as they kept moving, his eyes darting here and there to make sure not to end into another fight, they had already beated some son of bitches, whom left bruises on them and cuts
But they kicked ass
“Cass where are you?”
Castiel on the outside of this entrance to hell, stood near the Impala, holding a bloodied angel blade
“I am here, outside as planned, with the Impala…
…the place is clear”
he looked around himself, the wind and sky with Mercury clouds given him a sense of desolation and incoming menace
“Good, we’re meeting you there” Dean hung up before Cass could pronunce the question that tormented him
– did you get him? Is he alive?“
He had a role, each of them did, and he got Asmodeous busy elsewhere. But he couldn’t stay calm, his hands almost shaking as he tried to hold his spot, standing there, just waiting for them to come out and back to safety
Gabriel furrowed his brows as he listened to Dean, it was all an echo, a confused noise but he caught some words,
– Castiel? – his mind elaborated that information
Light
It was cloudy, and yet it his his eyes as shattered glass rubbed deep into his eyes.
He never made it past that line. The only place he was going to in centuries had been the room for the tortures.
The two hunters met the angel outside, who looked at them longingly as they rushed downstairs, wind messing with Sam’s hair, but Gabriel’s.
Covered in old blood, dirt and what not, his colors, his true colors were so … damaged it reminded Castiel of Sam’s soul
The misery, anguish and rage that got Castiel was heavy and visible in his celestial eyes, that was so … Not right.
Lips curled down in an expression of disgust, not of his brother, but of what they had done to him, and he knew something, they were gonna pay.
“Come on come on, get in the car” Dean rushed, and so they did
Sam moved to let Gabriel in the backseat, helped by Castiel as Dean sat in the driver’s position, then reached on the seat beside as Castiel sat back with Gabriel, who looked so confused, exhausted, about to tear up, he seemed like a lost dog who got tormented for too long, he looked scared and tired, Castiel gave him his kind look, besides he was worried and angry, his eyes were kind and emotional on his brother, sweet as the look of a child
“We’ll fix you up, Gabriel”
The archangel looked back at his lil bro, but lowered the look, thoughtful, getting lost in thoughts, everything moved in slow motion, confused, blurred, uncertain.
But Sam’s words interrupted his mind, stopping him from drifting away, catching his attention even if just for a brief time of realization, as he stared back to the younger Winchester, who turned his head around to stare at him while pronouncing those words
“We’re going home”
Baby’s engine roared, and purred as they drove all the way back to the bunker, with Gabriel that eventually passed away in the backseat of one of the safiest place in the world.
Dean: So what’s the coolest thing you’ve done as an angel?
Gabriel: I danced with the devil in the pale moonlight.
Anna: You mean when you and Luci did the Macarena to try and distract Dad from the horde of platypus’s you let loose?
Gabriel: Well it worked.
Balthazar: Dad even joined in. It was awesome.
Michael: Best Sunday ever.
Someone write this! Pleaseeeee
(imagine Gabriel is, like 10 or 11 here. Also, almost 900 words?! i was aiming for 500.) @winchestergirl-13 @3amobsessionsandregret
“Hurry up, Gabriel!”
“I’m coming, Luci!” Gabriel huffed as the heavy boom box
smacked against his legs with every step. “This thing is so big.”
“Well, this is your fault so you have to carry it.”
“I already said I’m sorry. And you said you would help me. So
help me carry this thing?”
“Absolutely not, little brother.”
Mayday! Mayday! They broke
through the wall! Repeat, we have failed to hold them back! ETA to the Garden,
five minutes.
Come on, Balthazar! Lucifer
called back through angel radio, A bunch
of angels lost against those poison ducks.
“I named them Platypus,” Gabriel muttered under his breath.
Lucifer rolled his eyes, and called back frustrated to
Balthazar.
Ok, fine. You, Anna and the others just try to corral
them all to Approval and Drop-off. Tell them I said to just send them to Earth.
Send help! There’s so many! cried Anna
through their shared link.
Lucifer grunted irritatedly and ignored the chaos and
yelling in his mind. He turned to Gabriel and snatched the radio from his
younger brothers hands.
“Alright, there’s Dad and Michael, just like Joshua said. Make
sure they both face AWAY from the field. That is, unless you want them both the
see the horde of death beavers you made.”
Gabriel drew his eyebrows together and hissed through his
teeth at Lucifer. “Shut up, jerk. I know.” He drew in a calming breath and put
on his most innocent face as Gabriel ran to where his father and oldest brother
were lounging in the dim light.
“Dad! Hey Dad!” he called eagerly.
“Gabriel,” Chuck spoke back, a gentle smile across his face
in greeting for his child. “What’s got you all excited tonight?”
“Luci taught me a new dance today! Wanna see?”
“Well, of course I do, Gabriel.”
Gabriel beamed a smile at his father, then positioned
himself so that both Chuck and Michael wouldn’t see what was essentially a
cattle drive of his epic mistake.
He was just bored. It happens. Walking through the Creation
section of Heaven was probably a bad idea, in retrospect. All those leftover
animal parts were just sitting around, begging to be played with, and Gabriel
was expected not go in there and mess
around? Yeah, right. And one platypus was cute and fun. But then it fell into
the multiplier.
That machine was big and loud and scary, and Gabriel had no
idea how it worked. A few new platypuses were generated, and it was still fun,
lots of cuddles for Gabriel and his animal creation. But they kept coming. More
and more and more until the room was overflowing with hundreds of them. Gabriel
was grateful that Lucifer had walked by so he could beg him for help.
And being a good big brother, Lucifer laughed mercilessly at
Gabriel while he stopped new animals from filling the room, came up with a plan
for Gabriel, then got mad that he was still helping when this wasn’t his
problem.
But here he is, begrudgingly carrying the boom box for Gabriel,
helping him get out of this horrible mess.
One of the many reasons Gabriel loved his brother.
Lucifer walked over to place the radio on the table, giving Gabriel
a confused glance at the way Gabriel was looking at him. All heart eyes and
admiration.  Lucifer just rolled his own
blue eyes and pressed play on the tape deck, music for The Macarena filling the
courtyard.
The timing couldn’t have worked out better. As Gabriel
started his rhythmic dancing, flailing his arms around overdramatically to keep
attention on him, Anna, Balthazar and a small gaggle of other angels (way more
than Lucifer remembered calling in the first place) came over the hill and were
carefully steering the paddle of platypus toward their final destination, using
their wings to guide them.
Gabriel saw them as well, moving more wildly and really
getting into the music. He was flapping his wings in time with the beat,
lifting himself off the ground a little. He wasn’t sure when he started singing
along with the lyrics, but he was having fun.
Lucifers plan had worked perfectly, Chuck and Michael didn’t
notice a thing. As the last of the animals disappeared through the gates, Anna
threw Lucifer a thumbs up, and followed the rest of the angels to make sure all
no stragglers broke off from the group.
As Lucifer turned back to Gabriel, he was surprised to find
no one in the yard anymore. The sound of pure laughter above him drew his eyes
up, and the sight was enough to melt his heart.
Gabriels look of unadulterated joy as he danced with his father
and brother in the sky, flitting and soaring while doing this ridiculous dance,
made any annoyance and frustration to melt out of his body. He stretched out
his large wings and with a shake and a strong flap, joined his family in the
sky to dance through the night.
(yes i looked it up. a group of platypus is called a paddle. it was too cute not to use.)
Yesss! Thank you this is awesome!
Does Gabriel know about this….
Or Samshine lost a bet?
Maybe by accident, but he doesn’t realize it until Sam goes out in a hunt, and he can’t change?
I can sense a secret relationship between Gabe and Sam 😉
@ttttrickster @doctor-zyre Soooo something like this?
~~~~ Sunlight filtered through tacky motel curtains as a loud groan was heard from the bed. A mop of golden hair popped out from under the blankets as arms wrapped around a tan waist. “Come back to bed Samshine, it’s too early.” Gabriel trailed kisses along Sam’s back, holding on tight in hopes of keeping the hunter in their bed. The hunter fondly kissed the angel’s forehead as he tried to release himself from his lover and the covers.

“You know I have to meet up with Dean this morning. He will get suspicious if I’m late somehow without a explanation for all those hickies you gave me. Especially because I didn’t take someone home from the bar last night.”

Sam snatched his flannel off the ground, feeling Gabriel’s eyes shamelessly stare at his naked body. Looking over his shoulder, Sam winked at the angel as he saunter into the bathroom.

“If you are fast enough, I might consider round two.” Gabriel sprung out of bed in seconds, his lips curled into a huge grin.

“Oh Sammy, you sweet talker!”

Sam never noticed the mix up until he was knees deep in the hunt. The hunter was pulling out his gun when Dean noticed the bright color.

“Hey, isn’t that Gabriel’s?” Dean’s face scrunched up in confusion as Sam started fumbling with his words to explain the situation with his brother trying to fry his angelic boyfriend.

“Right you are Dean-o,” Gabriel crowed from where he appeared next to Sam. “This moose is mine. Don’t worry, you’ll always have Cassie making doe eyes at you.”

The older Winchester gaped at the archangel who was currently trying to receive a kiss hello from Sam, completely ignoring the fact that the brothers were currently in the middle of a hunt.

“Did it have to be the douchey midget Sammy, out of all the people you could have gotten together with?” Dean mutter. He regretted asking how his brother ended up in the archangel’s red boxers, there was never going to be enough brain bleach to erase all of those details, never.

Yessssss! I wrote some smut awhile back about Sam accidentally putting on Gabriel red silks but not going anywhere. This is awesome!

–Its movie night in the bunker.

Dean has demanded one at least once a week. He says it’s because they need a break from hunting once in a while, but Sam thinks it’s because big brother Deans body isn’t 25 anymore. It’s a thought that brings a smile to his face every week when Dean brings out the “movie hat” full of slips of paper with everyones choices for the week, and each time Dean looks over at Sams stupid face and asks “what?” and Sam always says the same answer. “Nothing, Dean.”
